Project 2025:
Threatening
American Rights And Freedoms
Project 2025, led by the Heritage Foundation and other conservative think tanks, is a “Presidential Transition Project” that aims to overhaul the federal government. It poses significant threats to individual freedoms and civil rights and would lead to a more centralized and autocratic form of governance.

What's At Stake
Dismantling
Government:
The Project 2025 Agenda
Increase
Presidential Power
Expand presidential control over the executive branch, place Justice Department under the President, and reduce check and balances
Reclassify
Federal Workforce
Reclassify many federal employees to make them at-will workers, enabling easier replacement with administration loyalists
Overhaul
Agency Policies
Justice Department, EPA, Health and Human Services, Department of Education, Homeland Security
Advance
Ultra-Conservative Vision
Promote “traditional” family values, restrict LGBTQ+ rights, and align federal policies with conservative Christian principles
Erode
Congressional Power
Undermine the separation of powers by concentrating authority in the executive branch and weakening Congress’s ability to provide oversight.
Diminish
Role of Judiciary
Limit the judiciary’s ability to review and restrain presidential actions, weakening its role as a check on executive power.
Let's Talk About You
How Project 2025 Could Impact You Personally
These were our predictions before the 2024 election—see what’s already happening or has been floated. ✔️ indicates what’s in motion or has been proposed.
✔︎
Food and Drug Safety
You’ll question the quality of your air, water, food, drugs, car emmissions, and consumer products because the agencies issuing rules for these will be curbed or eliminated.
✔︎
Education
Your children and grandchildren will attend schools regulated by parents, not the Department of Education.
✔︎
Academic Freedom
Your children and grandchildren will not learn about race and racial discrimination, and teachers and professors who bring these up in the classroom will be criminalized.
✔︎
Guns in Schools
Teachers will carry guns into classrooms.
✔︎
Medicare
If you’re on Medicare, your out-of-pocket costs will be higher, prescription coverage will be reduced, and work requirements will limit your ability to enroll.
✔︎
LGBTQ Rights
If you or a loved one is LGBTQ+, marriage may be denied and businesses could legally refuse service based on religious beliefs.
✔︎
Food Assistance Programs
If you are food-insecure, your access to food assistance will be limited.
✔︎
Prescription Prices
Your prescription drug prices will be much more expensive due to rollbacks on what Medicare can negotiate.
✔︎
Health Insurance
If you access health insurance through the ACA and/or have pre-existing conditions, you will likely lose your health insurance.
✔︎
Abortion Access
If you use an IUD, rely on Plan B, are considering IVF, or know someone who needs an abortion, you will no longer have access to those options.
✔︎
Head Start Program
If you cannot afford early childcare and learning, you will not be able to enroll your child in the Head Start program because it will be eliminated.
✔︎
Jobs
If you’re looking for a job, you’ll have a harder time due to cuts to the American Rescue Plan programs. If you do have a job, you will not be paid for overtime.
✔︎
Tariffs
You will pay more for any imported goods because of a new universal 10% tariff. (That’s what we thought!)
✔︎
Student Loans
If you’re repaying student loans, expect higher monthly payments, fewer debt relief options, and stricter access to affordable repayment plans.
✔︎
Pardoning J6 Insurrection
If you participated in the J6 insurrection and are currently jailed, you’ll be pardoned.
✔︎
Freedom of the Press
If you’re a media outlet or journalist and publish content critical of the President, your organization or you could face punitive actions.
