Your Ballot, Your Voice: Showing Up For Democracy

September 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

According to data from the 2020 U.S. Census, almost 1 in 4 people are not registered to vote. A healthy democracy depends on people who are willing to participate–and encourage others to do the same.

Join BigTentUSA on Thursday, September 10, at 12 pm ET for a timely conversation with Chyann Sapp, Coordinator for National Voter Registration Day, on promoting voter registration by organizing registration drives in your communities in the lead up to the 2026 midterm elections.

Chyann will dive into the work NVRD is to get people registered amid ever increasing challenges, and how registering to vote, staying informed, and showing up can help strengthen our democracy. She’ll also discuss how people can organize voter drives in their own communities, one voter at a time.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Chyann Sapp brings a wealth of strategic planning experience across diverse sectors, including government, nonprofit, advertising, and real estate sales and development. In 2011, Chyann made history by becoming the first Youth Voter Coordinator for the City of New York, where she led youth programming including the NYC Youth Poet Laureate program and Student Voter Registration Day, which was inspired by her participation in National Voter Registration Day. She also served as the Associate Director of a tech-focused nonprofit, where she led East Coast business development and established relationships with government and nonprofit partners to advance 2020 Census outreach efforts.
